What to Expect

What is Sunday at The Gathering Place Like?

As Clark County begins to reopen we're opening as well, though naturally a few things have changed. You can always find us here on our website, on our app, and on Facebook and YouTube at 10:30am Sundays, but if you choose to join us at the facility, we meet for two services at 9am and 10:30am. When you come, we'll take care of a few things and ask you to do the same for everyone's health.

Upon arrival you will be greeted warmly by one of our greeters near the lobby doors and asked if you have a fever or a cough. Facial coverings will be available for those without them, and refreshments and the Lord’s Supper elements, when made available, will be provided individually. Hand sanitizer is available in the lobby, commonly touched surfaces will be disinfected frequently, and fresh air ventilation has been increased. Especially note that restrooms are limited to two people at a time, with an attendant informing people when they are available.

For your part, we ask just a few things to abide by state guidelines. Naturally if you or a household member is exhibiting flu-like symptoms (including a fever of 100.4F or more), please stay home and recover, and we’ll look forward to seeing you in a couple weeks. While attending services, we ask that you use a facial covering, even during singing, and observe physical distancing of 6ft. as much as possible. Chairs in the worship center are configured to provide distance between households.

Due to our two service format and sanitation requirements, please exit the worship center in a timely fashion after the service, but feel free to linger in the fellowship hall, in the parking lot, or under the covered walkway to visit with friends.

What should I wear?

We encourage people to wear casual weekend attire.
If you want to dress up that’s fine too.

What about my children?

As we reopen following the Stay at Home order, children will initially stay with their families during the service and activity packets will be available in the lobby.
When we move into the later phases of the reopening plan, children's activities will gradually resume. Preschoolers will have their own age appropriate teaching time during the entire service. Elementary school-age children (K-5th) will be able to participate in the music portion of the service while enjoying their own age appropriate teaching time.
More details will be available as we progress into the next phases of reopening.
